Antique Scottish 1880 - 1890 Goats Hair Dress Sporran
This goat hair sporran is true classic with an antique nickel silver sporran engraved cantle with three knobs, under set with a pink edged black leather slip. The body has three rope chain strung tassels in black goat hair topped with engrave edge cones. The military style back pouch purse in tooled oxblood leather.
This is a true Victorian dress sporran look that was made popular in the paintings of Kenneth MacLeay in his commission from Queen Victoria in the 1860’s monograph The Highlanders of Scotland.
Approx size. 20cm x 48cm ( 7.8” x 18.8” ) - In good original antique condition.
