The Scots Guards, is one of the Foot Guards regiments of the British Army. Their origins lie in the personal bodyguard of King Charles I of England and Scotland. Its lineage can be traced back to 1642, although it was only placed on the English Establishment in 1686. It is the oldest formed Regiment in the Regular Army, more so than any other in the Household Brigade.
The Scots Guards Pipes and Drums are made up from soldiers of the Battalion and conduct their training alongside the remainder of the soldiers. ... After training at Infantry Training Camp at Catterick soldiers are able to develop their musical abilities at the Army School of Bagpipe Music and Highland Drumming in Edinburgh.

A Sporran is a pouch (Scottish Gaelic for ‘purse’). Now a decorative part of Highland dress, it was originally an everyday practical item. Made of leather or fur, it usually has more or less elaborate silver or other ornamentation, especially on the clasp or hanger. It is worn on a chain or belt around the waist, allowing the sporran to lie below the waist of the person wearing a kilt.
